Husband and wife winemaker team, Chris and Andrea Mullineux, set out with a shared vision to create authentic Swartland wines that reflect the distinct terroir of the region while embracing reasoned, sustainable farming practices and modern minimalist winemaking. Their commitment to quality and their deep respect for the environment and their employees have earned them acclaim both nationally and internationally, and has led to Mullineux being awarded South African Winery of the Year an unprecedented five times by the highly respected Platter’s Guide.
The Kloof Street range is all about freshness, balance and great drinkability. The Rouge is a delicious blend sourced from six sustainably farmed vineyard parcels across Swartland, with vines ranging from 7-48 years old. Bursting with juicy dark berry flavours on the nose and palate, this Swartland gem is beautifully balanced, with a hint of cozy holiday spice on the finish. Each grape in the blend brings something special: Cinsault adds a lovely perfume, Tinta Barocca brings a touch of tannin, Grenache amps up the fruitiness, and Syrah ties it all together seamlessly.
