The Moreau family has been settled in the heart of Chablis since 1884. Louis Moreau, the sixth generation, studied oenology and viticulture in California and took over from his father when he returned to France in 1994. Nowadays, the Domaine's vineyards extend across the four levels of the appellation: Petit Chablis, Chablis, Premier Cru and Grand Cru.

Blanchot is located on the east of the Grand Cru appellation, and although the sun exposure is somewhat limited, it remains a paradoxically warm terroir. Its steep slope and sheltered location result in slow ripening conditions. Exceptionally atypical, Blanchot is a real eye-catcher: it reveals itself with a great depth, predominantly floral on the nose and with a mineral, pure and magical personality. On the palate is round and powerful, with hints of undergrowth and white flowers.

Pair this bold Chablis with braised veal and creamy mushrooms.

91 Points - Bruce Sanderson, Senior Editor, New York

Though rich, even creamy, this balanced and juicy white retains a sense of reserve and a steely underpinning. Apricot, peach, melon and stony mineral flavors see this through to the long conclusion. Not imported into the U.S. Drink now through 2027
