CW Wines’ Schoolhouse wines come from a Coonawarra vineyard with a little history — the site was once home to a schoolhouse established in 1888, and each year the winery releases a special bottle in its honour. Today, the Schoolhouse Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the estate’s signature wines, showcasing the depth and character of Coonawarra.
This is classic Coonawarra Cabernet with a modern, polished feel. Ripe fruit, fine-grained tannins, and subtle oak come together in a way that’s generous without feeling heavy, with plenty of structure and balance.
Blackcurrant and black plum lead the way, followed by warming spice and cooling dried herbs. Rich and concentrated on the palate, with ripe dark fruit, fine tannins, and a touch of toasty oak, it’s powerful but beautifully in check.
Pour it with roast lamb, slow-cooked beef, grilled meats, or a board of aged cheeses.
