Raised amidst the vineyards, Alexandre Favier is part of a long line of winemakers in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. His grandfather, Noël Sabon, hails from one of the region’s most renowned winemaking families. Alexandre began his viticultural studies at the age of fifteen in Orange, completing his exams by 2001. Just a year later, at the age of twenty, he assumed full winemaking responsibilities at Domaine Chante Cigale when his father’s health declined. Today, Domaine Chante Cigale stands as one of the most important family estates in Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

The Cicada Blanc is an unusual yet harmonious blend of Grenache Blanc (40%), Viognier (30%), and Picpoul Blanc (30%). The Grenache Blanc and Picpoul are sourced from clay-limestone soils in Richerenches, Vaucluse, while the Viognier comes from the Northern Rhône. Vinified in stainless steel with a short one-week maceration, the result is an easy-drinking, unoaked French table wine with citrus and pear aromas, a soft, rounded palate, and a silky mineral finish.

Savour this delicious wine with Coconut flavoured Thai and Vietnamese dishes, or as a delicious foil to barbecued or grilled mackerel.

Marie Antoinette is a striking reinterpretation of the Corbières AOP. This organic red opens with an inviting bouquet of toasted notes and fresh red berries. Rooted in Mediterranean culture and cuisine, The name “Mesta” honours a powerful medieval alliance of shepherds who governed the cañadas; historic migratory routes for sheep that remain protected to this day. Historical records show that the Martín Berdugo family’s south-facing estate on the banks of the River Duero has been dedicated to grape cultivation for more than 200 years. The modern chapter began in the late 1980s, when Josefina Martín Berdugo, together with her husband Enrique and their three children—Antonio, Bruno, and Pepa—began new plantings that would define the estate. In its early years, the fruit was sold to other wineries, but as the vines matured, their quality revealed remarkable potential. To capture this, a modern winery was built among the vineyards in 2000. Today, under the leadership of Antonio, Martín Berdugo crafts wines that embody the character and individuality of Ribera del Duero’s emblematic Tinto Fino grape.

This wine opens with inviting aromas of warm, fresh red fruit layered alongside subtle black-fruit nuances, accented by hints of lightly spiced toffee and gentle toasted notes from oak ageing. On the palate, it's intense and well-structured, offering a full mouth-feel supported by polished tannins and well-handled acidity. The ripe red fruit character and roasted undertones carry through seamlessly, leading to a clean, persistent finish. Already drinking beautifully, this is already showing excellent potential to continue evolving gracefully for several years if cellared. 

Pairs nicely with flavourful rice dishes like paella, hearty pastas such as lasagna, and grilled, roasted, or fried chicken. It also complements aged cheeses exceptionally well.
