After completing a joint honours degree in English and Italian at Cardiff University, Ian Elton-Wall began his wine career in 1994 with Oddbins, progressing from sales assistant to managing one of the company’s leading fine wine departments in London’s Notting Hill Gate. His time there provided broad experience across major wine regions and laid the foundation for his future in fine wine sales and purchasing.
In 1998, Ian joined Armit Wines, where he worked in private client sales and investment trading while developing a strong passion for Burgundy through regular buying trips to top domaines. He later held senior sales and purchasing roles at MARC Fine Wines and Wine Networks in South Korea, expanding his expertise in both private and trade markets.
Before founding Renaissance Vintners, Ian served as part owner and Managing Director of Premier Cru Trading Ltd, overseeing sales, purchasing, management, and market consultancy.
