About the Winery
Château Laronde Desormes

Winemaker Claude Gaudin has fashioned some exceptional wines from petits châteaux located along the Garonne River, bordering the Haut-Médoc appellation. His philosophy is simple: the wine is made in the vineyard. Dense plantation naturally reduces the yield per vine, resulting in a more concentrated wine. Traditional vinification and just the right touch of new oak give structure and added dimensions of flavor and complexity.

Jeb Dunnuck - The Languedoc: 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024
97 Points - Birte Jantzen
Bitter almond, beeswax, arbutus, and black berries reflect the enchanting environment of the estate's vineyards. The 2022 IGP Saint-Guilhem-Le-Désert Cité D’Aniane is fresh, supple, vertical, refined, and complex, with a silky, airy texture, as if the southern sun had no hold over it and it defies the scorching heat. It is an exercise in elegance, with absolutely perfect drinkability and finesse. A great wine for aging, it nevertheless does not forget to be magnificently delicious even now. A Languedoc wine straight out of a book. Drink 2025-2045.
