A boutique winery in Waimauku, west of Auckland, The Hunting Lodge crafts exceptional wines that celebrate New Zealand’s diverse terroir. This family-owned estate blends traditional methods with modern innovation, focusing on sustainability and small-batch production. From vibrant Sauvignon Blancs to elegant Pinot Noirs, their wines are expressive, approachable, and a true reflection of the land they call home.

The Expressions range celebrates New Zealand’s most iconic varietals, inspired by the country’s landscapes, people, and winemaking heritage. Full of character and intrigue, these wines offer a vivid statement of place, with each bottle revealing a story of its own. The Sauvignon Blanc captures the full spectrum of Marlborough, from the sun-soaked ancient riverbeds of the Wairau Valley to the rolling hills of the Southern Valleys.

Bringing together vibrant tropical fruit, herbal intensity, and pure varietal character. Aromas of passionfruit, mango, and orange peel mingle with fresh herbs and gooseberry, while the generous palate is framed by chalky acidity that delivers freshness, length, and structure.

Proudly family owned, the Borthwick vineyard is an established vineyard situated in Gladstone, the heart of the Wairarapa. Producing quality wine for over a decade, Paddy, an experienced wine maker, has gained a reputation for producing consistently great wines. The twenty seven hectares of vines bordering the Ruamahunga River are growing on stony, free draining, alluvial soils, with a micro climate giving warm daily temperatures, cool nights and low rainfall; perfect conditions for producing distinctive, quality wines.

The outstanding 2025 growing season produced a Sauvignon of exceptional concentration and balance. Fragrant aromas of spiced stone fruit, tropical fruit, and subtle dark herbal notes lead into a richly flavoured palate centred on ripe nectarine and bright lemon-lime acidity. Fresh and vibrant, it finishes with impressive length and persistence.

Blank Canvas is the personal wine range of husband and wife team, Matt Thomson and Sophie Parker-Thomson, MW. With a focus on Marlborough, Syrah from Hawkes Bay and Pinot Noir from Central Otago, the Blank Canvas wines are exciting, small-batch and increasingly recognized as the avant-garde of New Zealand wine. Every effort is put into making wines that are distinctive and cerebral, unencumbered by a regime or badge and are not beholden to tradition. Every vineyard, variety and vintage is approached as if it is a blank canvas.

Abstract is a study in terroir, shaped by restrained winemaking that highlights purity of fruit and textural depth. The wine shows an intense, seductive perfume of blackcurrant and white florals, supported by flinty minerality and a savoury edge. On the palate, it is textured and expressive, with a subtle richness and complexity balanced by freshness and precision. Elegant and finely poised, it offers immediate appeal while carrying the structure to age gracefully.
