This is from the Wairarapa Valley on the North Island, a region more well known for its core appellation of Martinborough. This is upriver and a bit more inland and warmer, so there is a more tropical guava tilt to the fruit (quite unlike Marlborough on the South Island). There is also a hint of sulphur, and grapefruit. It is medium bodied, fleshy, a touch sweet and enlivened by a dash of CO2. Fruit concentration and length are excellent. Tasted October 2026
90 points - John Szabo, MS
A lively and bright, fresh sauvignon here from Borthwick in Wairarapa (North Island), complete with a judicious addition of CO2 (notable effervescence), which works into the ensemble. There's a nice mix of grapefruit and green peach, lemon-lime flavours, also succulence and persistence. Sharp value - punches comfortably above the mean in this price/variety category. Tasted October 2026.
90 points - Michael Godel
Amazingly sharp and zingy sauvignon blanc, crisp, clean and pristine. Solicits salivary activity with its energy and excitement, offers waves of white wine pleasure, never relents, and finishes with a delicious dose of exotically-charged key lime. Crunchy stuff and built for all. Drink 2026-2028. Tasted October 2026.

Intensely expressed and instantly appealing, the wine shows green rockmelon, feijoa, kiwifruit and lemon peel aromas, leading to a s plendidly flavoursome palate that's filled with juicy fruit flavours with lively acidity, finishing persistent and delicious. At its best: now to 2027.
