Hourglass sits in the narrowest pinch of the Valley. This constriction creates a crucial thermal dynamic drawing cooler bay air up from the south. The air “bottlenecks” at the narrow channel resulting in a cooling breeze that tempers late afternoon heat.

2019’s steady and temperate growing season allowed for three separate picks of the vineyard, resulting in optimal phenolic development, pristine fruit, and intricate dimensionality in the finished wine. Meticulously balancing power and elegance, trademark dark and red fruit notes intertwine with savory baking spice, camphor, earth and tea leaf. 2019 Hourglass Estate is a textural and fresh expression of the vineyard’s unique volcanic soils, and showcases the energy, precision, and quality of the vintage

Pair this wine with bone in rib-eye or slow braised beef short rib.

The 2019 Blueline Cabernet Sauvignon is another stunning wine in the lineup. Revealing a deep purple hue as well as beautiful cassis and blue-tinged fruits, it has lots of violet and lead pencil notes, medium to full body, perfect balance, and incredible tannins. A blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Petit Verdot, 3% Malbec, and the balance Cabernet Franc and Merlot, it's going to deliver the goods for upwards of two decades. Maturity: 2021-2042.

The 2019 Blueline Estate is a hugely promising wine that still needs time to come together. Crushed raspberry, rose petal, blood orange and mocha all confer brightness. Plush, rich and beautifully layered, the 2019 is shaping up to be a jewel of a wine.
