The Cortonesi family has been a cornerstone of the Montalcino region for decades. Established in the 1970s, their estate spans 138 acres in one of the area's most storied regions, with 19 acres dedicated to producing world-class Brunello. The family began commercially selling their wine in 1985, and today, third-generation winemaker Tommaso Cortonesi continues the tradition. Tommaso combines his long-standing family traditions with modern technologies to craft some of the finest expressions of Tuscan Sangiovese.

Crafted from 37-year-old vines and aged in large Slavonian casks, the La Mannella Riserva exemplifies the elegance of a top-tier vintage. Abundant in character, it captures the warmth and luminosity of the season, with rich layers of dark plum, black cherry, and cassis, complemented by spice, sweet tobacco, and balsamic herbs. The wine is structured and precise, yet generous and expressive, with youthful tannins that ensure outstanding aging potential.

A perfect accompaniment for red meats and various Italian cheeses.

Gardini Notes: Brunello di Montalcino

100 Points - Luca Gardini

'The Riserva' of Cortonesi, from the homonymous cru, with soils rich in clayand sandstone that give the Sangiovese shades of 'dark' and great gustatorytension. Nose of blueberries, with touches of lemon thyme and floral nuances, from gardenia. Juicy mouthfeel, brackish tannins, finish with fruity return.
