Christian Bamberger winery is located in the German wine-growing region of Nahe. The Bamberger family has been practicing viticulture since 1658 and Christian is now the 14th generation. After an internship in Napa Valley, studies at the University of California in Davis and a degree in business administration at the University of Mainz, he returned to his parents' winery in 2004 and has been running the business since 2007.

The Merlot grapes for this Blanc de Noir were carefully fermented and matured in stainless steel tanks to preserve the delicate aromatics. In the glass aromas of raspberries, citrus orange peel and lavender emerge. The palate features spry acidity cradling crunchy red berry fruits with suggestive airy florals and stoney mineral notes lasting into the lively finish.

This unique white wine made from red Merlot grapes is the perfect pairing for sweet-and-sour pork chops and braised duck legs.

Falstaff

90 Points - Ulrich Sautter

A hint of pink in the colour. Sweet cherry, herbal and savoury aromas, some liquorice. On the palate the wine is dense, juicy and fresh, with aromas coherent with the fragrance, very well balanced, fruity in the finish, with a clear tactile mineral background. Convincing style, very good extract.
