Domaine Charly Nicolle was created with less than one hectare in 1979 by Robert Nicolle and Josette Laroche, who can both trace their winemaking heritage in Fleys back to the late 19th century. Since the creation of the Domaine, they have increased the size of their vineyards bit by bit, and today the Domaine produces wine from 20 hectares of vines. In 1999, they were joined by their son Charly, who had just graduated from the lycée viticole. Charly is now officially in charge of the Domaine, together with his wife Lucie, but Robert is still out in the vines nearly every day. The largest holdings of the Domaine are in AOC Chablis, located mostly around the family's beloved village of Fleys.

Named for its warm microclimate, Les Fourneaux (meaning  'The Furnace') is known for creating wines that offer ripe fruit notes alongside the classic minerality that Chablis is famous for. This rendition reveals a stirring bouquet of lush stone fruits, graceful florals, slivered almonds with a drop of honey.  Medium bodied on the palate, the developed fruit character forged by the site's terroir is effortlessly tempered by zesty acidity and hallmark flintiness that extends itself into the wine's very fine finish.

Treat yourself to a wedge of creamy brie cheese drizzled with honey-covered walnuts alongside a glass of this stunning Premier Cru wine.

91 Points - Andy Howard MW

Quite an exotic, warm and fleshy fruit style from this aptly named premier cru. This is matched by plenty of citrus acidity and some appealing stony, flinty notes on the finish. Very nicely put together and well balanced.
