Floral & Structured

In 1974, Valentino Migliorini, already a successful restaurateur, purchased a farmhouse in Monforte d'Alba and soon began innovating in winemaking. He created the first Langhe blend, Bricco Manzoni, in 1976, and was a pioneer in using small oak barrels for aging red wines and producing sparkling wine with the traditional method—introducing both to the Langhe region. By 1982, all his wines were aged in oak, and in 1999, he released the first 10-year reserve Barolo. His experimental approach and attention to detail helped establish Rocche dei Manzoni as a leading force in Piedmontese winemaking and paved the way for sparkling wine production in the area—decades ahead of others.

The wine presents a radiant, crystal-clear carmine red color, reflecting its youthful vibrancy. On the nose, it offers elegant and expressive aromas dominated by ripe cherry and delicate floral notes like violet, later unfolding into earthy nuances of rhubarb, gentian, and medicinal herbs, all supported by a refreshing liveliness. On the palate, it is ready to drink, with soft, delicate tannins, balanced alcohol, and a subtle balsamic note of mentholated talc. The finish is refined, featuring a gentle boisée touch and a distinctive toasted hazelnut note that adds depth and complexity.

The Rocche dei Manzoni Langhe Nebbiolo pairs well with rich, rustic dishes like truffle dishes, risottos, and slow-cooked meats such as roasted lamb or beef. Its firm tannins, vibrant acidity, and earthy aromas also make it an excellent match for aged cheeses, grilled vegetables, and dishes featuring mushrooms or tomatoes.
