Fabulas is a collaboration between a group of farmers, friends and a fabulous winemaker. The vineyards of Fabulas winery are located in the municipality of Pretoro (602 m a.s.l.) in the Majella National Park. Here you can really feel the influence of the massif mountain that gives its name to the park, and even though only 35 km far away there is the sea its mitigation effect is almost absent.

The Passerina vine derives its name from the small size of the berries and from the fact that the sparrows show a particular predilection for its grapes, characterized by a particularly tasty pulp. Widespread in the Marche and Abruzzo, it has only recently been relaunched as it has been forgotten and replaced by the more productive Trebbiano.

Mineral fresh white natural wine with spicy character. Brilliant straw colour with fine tears. Exuberant nose with, after swirling, wild white fruit blossom and plenty of minerality. Fresh onset with crisp acids and a surprising amount of fruit in the elegant texture. Refreshingly rich.

Perfect aperitif wine and excellent with fish starters, seafood, white meats and medium-aged cheeses.

Fresh & Juicy

Radford Dale is one of South Africa’s leading independent wineries. Based on the Helderberg Mountain in Stellenbosch, they specialize in producing site-specific, natural wines. Prizing individuality and combining a keen pursuit of innovation and a healthy respect for tradition, the results are refined and often elegant wines, designed to be enjoyed as they have been throughout history; socially, gastronomically and festively.

The Thirst range offers refreshing, lower alcohol, naturally-made wines, with minimal
intervention. They have not been stripped of any natural components and they
are neither fined nor filtered, appearing hazy in the glass. The Cinsault vines were planted in 1989 and are grown on sandy soils lining the banks of the Moddergat River. Bush vine trained with no irrigation in the vineyard, producing a small crop but one with lovely concentration, harvested early during ripening to retain maximum freshness.

Fresh, juicy and bright with lovely mineral, stony notes under the joyful, thirst-quenching fresh cherry and cranberry fruits. Medium-bodied with slowly blooming tannins and zippy acidity, this will be an easy wine to kick back with and enjoy.

Pair with tasty snacks like sheep's milk cheeses  and cured meats on your next charcuterie board.

Montepulciano is a native grape variety to the area between Marche and Abruzzo. Several documents dating back to 1700 indicate that it is originally from Torre de 'Passeri in the province of Pescara.

This is a single vineyard wine which comes from a plot named Fara: a small vineyard farmed organically and biodynamically where sheep wander around, controlling the vineyard flora and fertilizing the area.

A clenched but fruity natural red wine with plenty of character. Deep cherry colour with aromas of blackberry preserve, bitter chocolate and fresh coffee along with almond as it develops. Powerful opening taste, perfectly dosed between tannins and acidity.  Mouth filling with plenty of stoney minerality on the finish.

Fantastic with matured red beef and ground game, as well as vegetable gratin and fresh cheeses.

Big & Bold

Scribe Winery in Sonoma, Calif. produces vibrant, terroir-driven wines.
The winery– founded in 2007 on a property that pioneered pre-prohibition Sonoma Valley winemaking– is managed by fourth-generation California farmers and brothers, Andrew and Adam Mariani.

This Cabernet grows along the eastern slope of Atlas Peak in Napa, on an isolated vineyard composed of gravelly, volcanic soil and surrounded by lush California wilderness. Positioned above the fog line at an elevation of 1600 ft., the east and southeast-facing site sees cool morning sun followed by shade from the bright afternoon heat provided by the ridge line. It has wonderful aromas of dark fruits, leather notes and hints of baking spices. On the palate the wine is rich yet well-structured and soft.

Perfect to pair with grilled meats or vegetables with nutty flavours, such as tahini dressing.

Matthias Hager Riesling Alte Reben Kamptal 2018
$37.95 / bottle
Vintages #: 24663
750ml bottle
Rich & Fruity

Matthias Hager's winery has about 13ha of vineyards in and around the small wine-growing village of Mollands. All of his vineyards are cultivated biodynamically according to Demeter. The strength of this family business is its diversity. Loess, clay and different kinds of primary rock (mica shist, gneiss, etc.) can be found in the northern part of Kamptal.

Full of flavour, this wine has gone through natural fermentation - 10% of the grapes were fermented on the skin and aged in old oak, 90% spontaneously in steel, resulting in a complex, rich, and mineral Riesling. Sourced from 50 year-old vines, this is a concentrated wine with acidity a defining partner to the white fruit and citrus layers. A touch of sweetness gives it richness and softens the intense acidity. Drink now or leave for further aging.

Great with Moroccan Chicken or a Tagine dish.

Matthias Hager Grüner Veltliner Urgestein Natural Kamptal 2019
$33.95 / bottle
Vintages #: 24662
750ml bottle
Aromatic & Spicy

Matthias Hager's winery has about 13ha of vineyards in and around the small wine-growing village of Mollands. All of his vineyards are cultivated biodynamically according to Demeter. The strength of this family business is its diversity. Loess, clay and different kinds of primary rock (mica shist, gneiss, etc.) can be found in the northern part of Kamptal.

The vines grows on the Mollandser site called Steinleithen. The soil there is very stony (Gneiss) which gives the wine its mineral quality. The vineyard is 40 years old and located in the southern part of Mollands with a beautiful view to Schoenberg – the next village in the valley of Kamptal – about 340m above sea level. This Gruner is skin fermented and aged in used oak barrels. It is an aromatic version of the varietal with sun ripe citrus, white pepper, stone and that classic Grüner minerality. Perfection!

Due to its complexity and intense aromas, it is well suited to hearty home cooking (schnitzel, roast pork, ...) as well as to vegetarian dishes such as couscous with vegetables.
