About the Winery
Domaine Andre Aubert
At the very heart of the Rhône Valley, at the northerly tip of the Southern Rhône, lie the vineyards of Grignan-Les-Adhémar. The chances are you haven’t heard the name before, few people have, but the wines are worth seeking out. It’s not a new wine region – vines have been planted here since around 500BC but it is a new name (formerly known as Côteaux-du-Tricastin). Domaine André Aubert, has been formed over decades and today comprises of more than 280 hectares spread from north to south of the prestigious Southern Rhone Valley on the appellations Côtes du Rhône, Côtes du Rhône villages, Visan, and Grignan-les-Adhémar.

Lovely nose of cherries, forest berries and baking spices. Crisp and juicy on the palate with a medium body and vivid character for the appellation. Playful with a grainy finish. Grenache, syrah and mourvedre. Drink now.

The tank-matured 2022 Vinsobres is a blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre. It looks like an overachiever at this stage, with bold cherries and raspberries on the nose, even a hint of stone fruit. Full-bodied, round and expansive, with a creamy-textured mid-palate, it moves seamlessly into a long, concentrated and tannic finish.

Notes of sun-drenched black cherry and strawberry preserves are sonorous in this fruit-forward, piercing blend of 90% Grenache and 10% Syrah. It highlights all of Grenache's red-fruited delights and soft, pillowy tannins along with a twist of Syrah's peppery, brambly spice. Delightful young, it should maintain peak through 2030 at least.

The Real Review
92 Points - Ralph Kyte-Powell
A blend from Barossa grenache vines classified as “Old” – 35 years – and “Survivor” – 70 years. The result is less traditional than the components might suggest with notable floral aromas, hints of Turkish Delight, licorice, raspberry, and earthy notes on the nose. It’s very fragrant and the flavours are fruit-sweet but not jammy. It has lovely velvety flow in the mouth and good depth of flavour without undue heaviness. Soft ripe tannins and a long licorice-accented finish complete the picture. Drinking well right now.
