The .75 ha parcel of land within Nuit-Saint-Georges which provides the fruit for this bottling has vines ranging in ages between 40-54 years, and grow upon beds of limestone clay rich soils.
Aromatically there are notes of crushed rose petals and violets, as well as tart red fruit and fine vanilla. The palate is refreshing with well balanced tannins, and the finish is surprisingly dry compared to the delicacies on the nose.

The Moreau family has been settled in the heart of Chablis since 1884. Louis Moreau, the sixth generation, studied oenology and viticulture in California and took over from his father when he returned to France in 1994. Nowadays, the domaine's vineyards extend all over the four levels of the appellation: Petit Chablis, Chablis, Premier Cru and Grand Cru.
What makes Chablis so exceptional? Evidently, the composition of the soils. The limestone soils of the Chablis appellation were formed in the upper Jurassic era, or Kimmeridgian; and contain lots of fossilized oyster shells that add a great complexity, volume and structure to the wine. On the palate, this Chablis is especially floral, and displays fresh aromas of apple and pear. On the palate, it has a vibrant mineral expression, balanced by a textured roundness and finesse.
Perfect to accompany with seafood, such as oysters or lobster risotto.

Named Les Fourneaux since 1537 and with an excellent sun exposure, this Climat’s name certainly refers to heat. Louis Moreau's Les Fourneaux has an intense floral nose: rose petals aromas intermingle with hints of acacia flowers, and has notes of vanilla too. On the palate, it is very round, with a beautifully balanced acidity and freshness.
This wine will pair nicely with grilled scallops.

Meursault is the largest village of the Côte de Beaune, with a history of winegrowing that dates back to the Romans. It is known for producing white wines that are softer and richer than the neighbouring villages of Puligny- and Chassagne-Montrachet. There are several climats in Meursault classified as Premier Cru vineyards. They consist of two groups, one to the north of the village Meursault, bordering on Volnay, and a larger group to the south of the village, in the direction of Puligny-Montrachet and Blagny. Their wines are designated Meursault Premier Cru + vineyard name, or may labelled just Meursault Premier Cru, in which case it is possible to blend wine from several Premier Cru vineyards within the AOC.

From the lesser known region of Morey Saint Denis (sandwiched in-between Gevrey-Chambertin and Chambolle-Musigny), this beautiful 1er cru is located just below the Clos de Lambray, whose clay and limestone originated in the Jurassic period. Named for the once low walls that surrounded this vineyard, this wine leaps out of the glass with high-pitched notes of cassis, deep red cherry and blueberry. Expect spice, licorice and a touch of earthiness on the palate as this wine continues to develop.
Pair this delicious and delicate wine with roast beef, veal, game birds, or rabbit. Soft cheeses such as camembert and brie also pair beautifully.

The style of Vosne-Romanée wines is often described as a combination of elegance and power. The best (and most expensive) Grand Cru wines of this village are often seen as the ultimate expression of Pinot noir: "Vosne, the pearl of the Cote! the vineyards assembled here are the choice of its greatest crus: Romanée and Richebourg, Tache and Suchots, noble wines of velvet, fire, and exquisite grace.

Rich and expressive Chablis with excellent weight on the palate, a kiss of oak and mouthwatering acidity. The aromatic profile shows a complex structure, offering notes of orchard and stone fruits, accentuated by chalky minerality along with delicate spice and honeysuckle flavours. The acidity adds vigour to the palate and cuts through the density of the wine, keeping the fruit fresh and lifted all while maintaining a soft, pleasing texture. This wine has great ageing potential but may also be drunk young.
The lightly creamy texture of this wine will do well with similarly creamy sauces. Try with rich, buttery lobster or chicken dressed with beurre blanc sauce.

Les Clos is the largest grand cru in Chablis and is considered the quintessential wine of Chablis for many. The site generally produces one of the most potent and longest-lived wines of the appellation and yet can be a pleasure to drink in its youth. Since 2013, this parcel grapes are vinified and aged 100% in stainless steel tank to keep its finesse and elegance.
The Domaine Louis Moreau Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru displays a very mineral bouquet, with an elegant finesse and impressive length on the palate. Pair this premier cru with roasted monkfish.

Originally from Beine, Christophe Patrice has been working on the family estate with his father and uncles since 1996. In the spirit of freedom, he set out on his own with a 5 hectare vineyard in 2006. In 2011, he took over the Daniel Roblot estate, which is a 19 hectare vineyard, with an average vine age of 45 years. Contrary to what is practiced by a large majority of Chablis winegrowers, the vines are planted in low density at a rate of 5,800 vines per hectare.
A fine and aromatic nose with aromas of white flowers and citrus fruits with hints of flint and minerality in the background. The palate is balanced and lively with continued notes of white grapefruit citrus, crunchy yellow apple and spritzes of saline that dance into the finish. Bright and vibrate without being austere, offering fine texture and finesse.
Pair this wine with classics like oysters and other seafood fare.

Domaine de Bellene is the creation of Nicolas Potel – the son of the legendary Gérard Potel of Domaine Pousse d’Or. Potel is a big name in Burgundian winemaking, and he is known for constantly challenging the borders of winemaking in Burgundy.
The Coteaux Bourguignons 'Cuvée l'Eclos des Abeilles' comes from three magnificent parcels, left without vines for a long time, pre-phylloxera, with a great Terroir potential. These different terroirs are based in three villages, totalling 4 hectares. Released for the first time in 2018, this is a very ambitious white Burgundy from young, densely planted vineyards in Nuits-St-Georges and Saint Romain. Made without any added sulphur, it's the latest in a series of brilliant generic whites from Nicolas Potel, with chiselled, breezy flavours and a saline bite. (Tim Atkin, MW)
About the vintage: The 2020 vintage is absolutely excellent, lauded as 'almost a dream vintage' by top UK wine buyers and something that you should snap up while you can – especially since it’s clear that there’s going to be very little wine coming out of Burgundy next year (and at much higher prices!)
It is abundantly clear that 2020 produced some magnificent wines, with exceptional balance, freshness and full fruit maturity, yet that also remain very Burgundian in style. There is very little not to like.

Nicolas Potel calls this the 'flagship' white of his domaine operation with some justification, as year in year out, it's one of his best value wines. Smoky, leesy and refreshing, it has benefited from the higher yields in a hot vintage to produce a wine that's fresh and crunchy with understated wood and an oatmeal tinged mid palate.

Nicolas Potel has a real talent for producing super white wines in so-called lesser terroirs, such as this Santenay lieu-dit, using larger oak barrels to complement rather than dominate the fruit. An intriguing wine with a beguiling profile of white flowers, yellow fruits and citrusy acidity.

Les Perrières is a lovely climat for whites, located at the top of the slope with rocky, thin soils that bring a refreshing crisp character to the wines. Barrel fermented and aged on it's lees for up to 14 months, expect a lush wine with an overlay of spice and cream and a rich, luxuriant texture. Not to worry, the bright lemony fruit and mineral, saline notes are still there!

Queue the rarity alert! Only 5% of the production from the Côte de Nuits Villages is white wine so this is a real treat. Expect exotic fruits notes with a hint of stone fruit and toasted nuts. This wine is well balanced between the acidity and the structure - it is rich, pleasant and concentrated. A long finish lingers with hints of honey and fresh mint.

A slightly fresher nose offers up decidedly floral-infused aromas of spice, the sauvage and black cherry aromas. Once again, the medium weight flavours are not particularly concentrated, but they are reasonably refined in the context of what is typical for the appellation, all wrapped in serious if slightly rustic finale.
The cuvée of Nuits-Saint-Georges-Village, which has been part of Domaine de Bellene since 2009, comes from four different 'climats'.

This beautiful Savigny-lès-Beaune Villages cuvée is a blend of three parcels: all three vineyards are more than 60 years old and were converted to organic viticulture when they were acquired by the Domaine in 2005 and 2006. The wines from these vineyards are always round and fruity, with soft tannins and a mix of red fruit flavors and this vintage is no exception.

This is one of the oldest vines of Domaine de Bellene. Situated in the village of Pommard, the vineyards were planted in 1928 and the plot was bought by Nicolas Potel's parents in 1978. This plot always produces well balanced wines, and it has been farmed organically since 1992.
This wine is rich in colour and shows a complex aromatic palette and a beautiful structure. The nose is so attractive: the strawberry, raspberry and cranberry fruit have an earthy-twiggy depth, with a hint of cinnamon spice too. The tannins are fine and silky, and the lively acidity infuses the fruit on the palate with a pleasant juiciness.

Jean Ferté was the person who persuaded Nicolas Potel's parents to move to Burgundy, so it's fitting that there should be a wine named after him. There are two parcels blended for this special cuvee: Les Peuillets, a plot planted in 1993 that covers 0.29 hectares and Les Hauts Jarrons, a plot of 47 hectares planted with vines from 1962 and 1975.
Aromas of blackcurrant, cherry and raspberry explode from the glass. Sweet, tangy, savoury and autumnal with notes of aromatic spices and forest floor. Fermented with 50% whole bunches and aged in 10% new wood.

Saint Romain lies in an isolated valley northeast of Auxey-Duresses. This wine is produced from a combination of 4 different plots (Les Poillanges, Aux Bas des Poillanges, La Perrière and Sous le château) all planted in 1957.
This is a bright, tart, red fruit dominant wine that is so incredibly fresh. It has grainy and grippy tannins that add structure to light and funky flavors. This is not your typical red Burgundy but it is delicious. Try it if you like to venture from the usual path. Tremendous value!

Hailing from the Volnay lieu-dit adjacent to Pommard's Le Poisot. Mingling dark cherries and berries with hints of baking chocolate and loamy soil, this Volnay is medium to full-bodied, supple and velvety, with succulent acids and powdery structuring tannins cloaked in a generous core of fruit. This is an elegant, charming Volnay that will offer a broad drinking window.

Nicolas Potel is an iconic producer in Burgundy. He grew up in a family dedicated entirely to wine; and after gaining some experience internationally, he started his own project in the late 90's.
Founded in 2009, Maison Roche de Bellene offers a complete range of wines, with an emphasis on individual terroirs from vieilles vignes (old vines - 40 years or older) that are farmed responsibly. All of the growers that Nicolas Potel works with are either organic certified or farming according to the principles of lutte raisonée (“sustainable viticulture”). This enables Potel to consistently produce the expressive, terroir-driven style that is his vision.
This wine is made from old vines with an average age of 48 years. They deliver a classic, pure expression of Chardonnay, fresh and lifted with ripe citrus, apple, toast and a creamy texture. The refined mineral note adds precise Burgundian elegance.
A nice option for pairing with grilled chicken or fish cakes.
