Citrusy & Fresh
Christian Bamberger winery is located in the German wine-growing region of Nahe. The Bamberger family has been practicing viticulture since 1658 and Christian is now the 14th generation. After an internship in Napa Valley, studies at the University of California in Davis and a degree in business administration at the University of Mainz, he returned to his parents' winery in 2004 and has been running the business since 2007.
The grape variety, Scheurebe, was discovered in 1916 in Irmtraud Bamberger's hometown. Her 100th birthday was the reason for the winemaker to replant this grape variety, which is also known as the German sister of Sauvignon Blanc. On the nose there are aromas of black currants and citrus. On the palate it is youthful with pure freshness, black currant and a little citrus fruit. The wine has good length and acidity making it an excellent choice for a wide variety of food pairings.
This wine would pair perfectly with any fish dish and summer salads.
