Cordero San Giorgio is a new beginning in Oltrépo-Pavese for three siblings who grew up surrounded by their family’s vines at the legendary Vietti Estate in Castiglione Falletto in Barolo. The siblings Francesco, Lorenzo, and Caterina Cordero, are grandchildren of Luciana Vietti & Alfredo Currado, one of the pioneers of the first Barolo crus and considered the “father of Arneis.” Their father is Mario Cordero, Alfredo and Luciana’s son-in-law, who was the company’s co-owner from the beginning of the ‘80s until 2016 when it was sold.

The Oltrepò Pavese is a hilly triangle of land in Lombardy, embraced by Piedmont, Liguria, and Emilia-Romagna. A territory dedicated to the cultivation of vines and the culture of wine for centuries: a land of both cultural and gastronomic encounter and exchange. Cordero San Giorgio is in the town of Santa Giuletta, and focuses on working with Pinot Nero, Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay.

2 bottles x Cordero San Giorgio Katari Oltrepò Pavese DOC Pinot Grigio 2023. 

A fresh and balanced Pinot Grigio, which maintains the intrinsic finesse of the grape variety with a vibrant, well-balanced acidity. This Pinot Grigio is made from grapes grown in the localitá of Rocca de' Giorgi, at 400 meters above sea level, amidst valleys covered by forests, steep slopes and thick ridges.

Made in stainless steel, this outstanding Pinot Grigio has a pale straw yellow colour with green hues, on the nose, it is fresh floral with fruity aromas of pear, apple, and jasmine. A dry, medium-bodied white wine, with marked crispy acidity. On the palate, it is fresh, well balanced, with a pleasant lingering finish.

Ideal as an aperitif and in combination with fish appetizers and white meats, such as poultry. A good pairing for salads, light and pureed soups, and fish first courses.

2 bottles x Cordero San Giorgio APSÛ Oltrepò Pavese DOC Chardonnay 2022.

Made from selected plots located in Santa Giuletta and Roca de' Giorgi, this Chardonnay ferments in stainless steel tanks and sees no malolactic fermentation. As fermentation finishes, half of the wine is racked into wooden barrels, where it ages for about six months.

The wine opens up as fresh and fragrant, with a bouquet of citrus notes, tropical fruit and white flowers. It is vibrant with a pleasant acidity balanced by the savoury and mineral finish.

A Pinot Nero that is an expression of finesse. Elegant aromas and delicate on the palate. 

Earthy & Fresh

Nicolas Potel is an iconic producer in Burgundy. He grew up in a family dedicated entirely to wine; and after gaining some experience internationally, he started his own project in the late 90's.

This entry-level red Burgundy comes from vineyards in the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits. The vines range in age from 30 to 80 years and are farmed sustainably.  Think delicious smashed cherry skins, crunchy acidity and a fresh vibrant intensity. Beneath all the fresh red fruit there is a subtle earthiness and chalky tannins.  This old vines Burgundy has finesse and a real quaffable quality.

This Bourgogne Pinot Noir is light enough to pair with salmon but complex enough to accompany duck confit. Try it with earthy-fatty meals like mushroom risotto, grilled trout or gnocchi with ricotta!

Rich & Juicy

The Oregon based wine collaboration between Nicholas Pearce and Sommelier Will Predhomme celebrates its 10th vintage with its newest release.

The 2022 Pearce Predhomme Willamette Valley Pinot Noir showcases the unique terroir of the Hyland Vineyard in the McMinnville AVA. Hyland is one of Oregon's oldest vineyards, planted on pure volcanic Jory soil at elevations as high as 900 ft. The vineyard is farmed sustainably using organic and biodynamic practices with a LIVE Certification.

The Hyland Vineyard was originally planted in 1971 with self rooted clones. At the 1985 Burgundy Challenge in Paris, Hyland fruit led the way in a blind tasting competition that saw panelists unable to differentiate between Oregon and Burgundian Pinot Noirs. To the amazement of the wine world, three Oregon wines garnered higher point totals than the Burgundies and all contained fruit from the Hyland vineyard. In 1989, Dijon 115 Pinot Noir clones were planted on several new blocks. Now reaching old vine status at over 30 years, these parcels create extremely interesting blending components.

The 2022 vintage shows pure fruit, bright acidity, intense depth, and a classic balance; aromas of red cherries, wild strawberries, forest floor, herbs & spice. The palate is fresh, lively with loads of raspberries and cherries. Fine tannins with a lengthy finish.

Pinot Noir is very versatile to pair. We love it with all types of roasted meats and vegetables; salmon, chicken, duck, pork, beef. Serve with sautéed mushrooms, grilled onions and fresh salads.
