Domaine André Aubert, has been formed over decades and generations by one very passionate wine family and today comprises of more than 280 hectares spread from north to south of the prestigious Southern Rhone Valley on the appellations Côtes du Rhône, Côtes du Rhône villages, Visan, and Grignan-les-Adhémar. The Château Le Grand Retour property was purchased in 1999.

Château le Grand Retour is situated in the Plan de Dieu AOC. This geographical area is overflowing with very important pebbles left behind by the Rhône River from millennia ago. As the Aubert family says, this vineyard allows the vines to 'drink the sun and live on stones.'

The fourth vintage of this wildly popular premium Rosé comes from South Provence and has been crafted in partnership with a family estate hailing from Lambesc, Sarah Jessica Parker and Invivo. SJP is involved in the blending of the new vintage each year, as she represents the taste of consumers and what they are looking for in their glass. The grapes come from the Roy René vineyards, located near the villages of Lambesc, Saint-Cannat and Rognes. The exceptional exposure of the Chaîne des Côtes and the Chaîne de la Trévaresse hilltops, as well as an affable climate, forges exceptional conditions for the beautifully ripe grapes used to craft this wine.

The nose is lifted and expressive with perfumed aromas of pink florals, red berries, subtle herb and chalky minerals. The palate is fresh, vibrant and fruitful with savoury notes delivering a fine, even, long finish of strawberries, rose petal and fresh herbs.

Perfect chilled as an aperitive with green olives or with a meal of grilled fish, salad and goat’s cheese. Try a glass alongside a classic caesar salad (go heavy on the anchovies!) or the classic French dish grilled lamb with ‘herbes de Provence’.

The history of Château la Courançonne begins all the way back in 1631 when the vines were first planted on the stoney soils of the Plan de Dieu. After the French revolution, the Sieur Correnson (Lord of Péculette) was granted authorization by the Pope to buy the estate and bestowed it with its current name. Today Château la Courançonne has grown to cover 40 ha of Plan de Dieu, 13 ha of Seguret, 3 ha of Rasteau and 6 ha of IGP. The estate was eventually acquired by well-known Southern Rhone heros, Domaine Autrand in 2019, who vowed to continue to vinify with the same passion & consistency of quality they bring to all of their wines.

Made from a blend of Grenache, Syrah, & Mourvèdre, expect to find a ripe fruit medley on the nose with aromas of black cherry & raspberries, swathed in sweet & savoury spices of cloves & cracked black pepper. The palate reveals pronounced fruit & liquorice intensity balanced by velvety tannins.

Pair with slow cooked caramelized dishes, creamy cheeses or chocolate desserts with red fruit coulis.

After settling in South Africa in 1990, Argentinian-born Billy Hughes was inspired to start his own wine venture in the Cape. After learning the ropes of viticulture and winemaking on his own, he and his late wife Penny bought an old wheat farm in Malmesbury, near Cape Town in the year 2000. Now, more than two decades after its inception, Nativo Wines continues to explore innovative and sustainable ways of making wine. The last few years has seen the addition of some single varietal wines to their range and the design of some one-of-a-kind cellar equipment.

The name Nativo encompasses allusions to Billy’s native origins, his progress to becoming a naturalised South African and desire to produce wines that are reflective of their origin, infused with site-specific characteristics.

An elegant Swartland blend with aromas of small red berries, bramble and anise, complemented by distinctive mineral overtones. The palate offers a silky mouthfeel and a gentle finish propped up by ripe tannins. Juicy and medium-bodied with generous fruit flavours balanced by keen acidity.

Try with Moroccan lamb, sweet potato and coriander with spicy cumin jus or Cape Malay Curry.
