Proudly family owned, the Borthwick vineyard is an established vineyard situated in Gladstone, the heart of the Wairarapa. Producing quality wine for over a decade, Paddy, an experienced wine maker, has gained a reputation for producing consistently great wines. The twenty seven hectares of vines bordering the Ruamahunga River are growing on stony, free draining, alluvial soils, with a micro climate giving warm daily temperatures, cool nights and low rainfall; perfect conditions for producing distinctive, quality wines.

A perfect pairing for grilled quail, roasted chicken or the richness of pork shoulder. This wine can also stand up to glazed salmon or a decadent pizza with sweet potato, balsamic onions and soppressata.

In 1971 Véronique Guibert de la Vaissière and her husband Aimé fell under the spell of an old abandoned farmhouse in the Gassac valley, near the old abbey of Aniane, in the hinterland of the Hérault and Mas de Daumas Gassac was born.

In the early 90s, the Guibert family took on a new challenge: to create a more accessible wine collection. The fortuitous discovery of great terroirs on the amphitheatre site of Villeveyrac in the Hérault, gave rise to an unprecedented partnership with the winegrowers of the Villeveyrac cellar - a partnership that continues to this day. From then on, the Mas de Daumas Gassac and Moulin de Gassac families joined forces and created a parcel selection involving some thirty winegrowers.

This easy-going red offers aromas of dark cherries and currents with layers of baked earth and sweet spices woven in between. The bright fruit and peppery spices cascade over the medium-weighted palate and are supported by creamy tannins giving way to a soft-textured, approachable wine.

A perfect everyday sipper that's ideal with light meals, mixed salads and grilled fare.

Francisco Baettig and Carlos de Carlos cut their teeth in the wine industry as part of the well known Errázuriz operation, where they worked together for many years. Inspired by their mutual love of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, the talented enologist and savvy businessman branched out to create Vinos Baettig. Produced in small batches and sold as limited editions to selected buyers, their wines have swiftly become some of the most interesting & highly lauded among the emerging talents of Chile.

This Selección de Parcelas was made with Chardonnay grapes grown in Malleco, in the appellation of Traiguén. Malleco is a land of wild forests, beautiful lakes, active volcanoes and abundant rain in southern Chilean. The name Los Primos (the cousins) refers to the closeness of style and quality of the vineyard parcels (named Triángulo and Llaima) that give rise to this wine.

Aromatic and highly complex with notes of pear, apricot, nougat & acacia subtly underscored by whiffs of honeyed wax and sliced almonds & walnuts. The palate is deep and reveals elegant weight with a creamy texture. Abounding with flavours of golden apple, passion fruit, honey, hay and sweet spices, the body and density are harmoniously balanced by the acidity. This is fresh, lively and tense, with a long finish and great aging potential.

Enhance the creamy texture of this wine by pairing along side seafood risotto or semi-soft, aged cheeses.

After an internship in Napa Valley, studies at the University of California in Davis and a degree in business administration at the University of Mainz, he returned to his parents' winery in 2004 and has been running the business since 2007.

This Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) estate wine from Christian Bamberger shows an intense aroma of currants, blackberries and cherries underlaid with coffee and chocolate and delicate spicy notes of cloves, cinnamon, roasted almonds and violets. At the beginning of the 1900’s the Nuti family bought a small plot of land in a locality known as “La Regola”, in the town of Riparbella, (a place name found in the Florence land register dating back to the 1700’s), to produce a small amount of olive oil and wine for family consumption. From the small cellar under the house, which was called "cillieri", the first production of the "La Regola"  was born. After three generations in 1990, Luca the eldest son, obtained a degree in agriculture, deciding to transform the small family wine production into a company structured winery and began to plant other vineyards and market the first bottles.

In addition to the cultivation of native vines such as Sangiovese and Vermentino, the company has added French white and red grape vines to their production, among which Cabernet Franc is a stand out. This Tuscan blend offers an inviting nose of vanilla and currents opening into a very berry-driven palate with extended notes of  blackberries, dark cherries and figs. The wine closes with notes of dried herbs and ground coffee, sculpted by building tannins.

Pour this alongside roasted red meats, Fiorentina steak and aged cheeses (4-6 yrs).

In 2003, Andrea and James Frey founded Trisaetum in one of the few places where climate, soil, and entrepreneurial spirit combine to produce some of the world's best wines. Today, the family owned and operated winery in the heart of Oregon's Ribbon Ridge AVA produces small lots of acclaimed Pinot Noir, Riesling, and Chardonnay from its three estate vineyards.

Since the family lives on site, James and Andrea have been committed to farming in a manner that creates a healthy and diverse ecosystem. This includes preservation of the natural habitats that surround their vineyards, dry-farming, never using herbicides, never tilling, extensive composting, bee-friendly viticulture and hand-harvesting every cluster.

Tucked in the farthest corner of the Yamhill Carlton AVA amongst the steeply sloping hillsides of the Coast Range mountains, the 45-million-year-old soils of this estate are derived from extremely diverse sedimentary rocks and intrusive volcanic basalts. The wildest of the three vineyards, this site produces wines of extreme complexity, earth-driven minerality and power. Taut with tension, yet sleek and expressive, showing notes of cherry and raspberry flavours accented by rose petal and dusky spices.

Keep it casual with bbq pork ribs, or class it up and try with braised rabbit & wild mushroom pie.

Reynvaan is a small family winery (Mike, Gale, Amanda, Angela and Matt) that produces Rhône-style red and white wines from two vineyard properties in the Walla Walla Valley. They produce wines only from varietals that they love and farm themselves. From their first vintage in 2007, the wines have been remarkable with a consistent complexity, depth of flavour, finish and distinctive terroir. Almost everything they do is by hand, planting each vine in the vineyards, trellising, pruning, dropping fruit and then picking and sorting the berries at harvest.

The “In The Hills”, is co-fermented with Viognier. It has amazing aromas of fresh mint, oyster shell, briny green olives, white pepper, and worn leather. The wine is incredibly bright with its acidity but is balanced out by the fresh apricot notes. Very complex on the palate, it's zesty & meaty, with hints of huckleberry, saltiness, and a savoury, mouthwateringly long finish. The wine is an amazing representation of Syrah.

A great match with roasted lamb with apricot and walnut stuffing.

Château de La Chaize is among the oldest, most historic estates in Burgundy’s Beaujolais region. Cared for by the same family for nearly three and a half centuries, the estate has been passed on to new owners, the Gruy family, who are equally committed to managing the estate with the utmost care, while implementing an ambitious environmental plan.

The Brulhier vineyard is 0.5 hectares of vines on a small, steep parcel that backs up to the southern side of Mont Brouilly. The vines thrive at an altitude between 400 and 425 meters and enjoy full southern exposure. The soil contains Brouilly diorite (andesite) also referred to as "blue stone".

Revealing broad aromatic expression and length, the nose abounds with aromas of black fruits, red cherries and sweet spices, while the palate revels an added mineral-driven graphite note alongside the lush fruit. Seamless tannins and a fine bead of acidity, this wine is light on its feet but by no means lacks substance.

This will be a great accompaniment to any charcuterie board and will particularly do well with pates, terrines and rillettes.

In 1984 Neil Ellis sourced grapes from vineyards not of his own and produced wine in rented cellar space. At the time, these grapes were sourced in the Stellenbosch district and meant a lot of nosing around the restrictive quota system prevalent at the time.

Today, the experience and knowledge of the past are applied to modern techniques and technologies for a new generation of winemaking. “Our vision remains to make distinctive, refined wines that are expressive of their terrain and rank amongst South Africa’s finest. A pursuit of quality, nothing less.”- Neil Ellis

Sourced from the same property as the Groenekloof Sauvignon Blanc, the Syrah grows in a unique micro-climate of warm days and cool nights to ensure optimal flavour development and steady sugars. The nose shows hints of raspberries with contributing perfumed aromas of violets. Juicy flavours of red and dark cherries on the palate with peppery notes lingering in the background. This wine is well balanced and fresh, with the fruit delicately framed by fine tannins.

Elegant and approachable, this wine partners perfectly with good food and friends. A wine for every moment.

This wine will match well with charcuterie boards and foods with a spicy kick. This will also pair well with grilled meats - try grilled octopus if you're feeling adventurous!

Since developing a passion and self-taught knowledge, Fritz Waßmer has established himself among the top winemakers in Baden with his internationally acclaimed Pinot Noir. His family has been involved in viticulture and agriculture for generations in the village of Schlatt and this is where he was first introduced to work in the vineyards. He hasn’t looked back since. Even though it would take a few years before Fritz Waßmer would produce his own wine, the cornerstone for his great love was laid at a young age.

Since founding the winery in 1998, Fritz Waßmer has pursued his own wine style: independent, finesse-rich and profound wines.

Fine fruity nose. Wild strawberry, currant, crunchy, slender and straight. On the palate racy, with a present, playful freshness of pink grapefruit and lime. A charming summer wine.

This is perfect as an aperitif, with hearty salads and pasta dishes.

Vassaltis is the latest addition to Santorini’s long, storied winemaking history. Owner Yannis Valambous’ passion for wine drew him back to the island of Santorini, where he spent many a happy family holiday as a child. In the wake of the 2010 Greek financial crisis, a plan took root in his mind, a plan that was part dream, part folly. Yannis sought to breathe new life into the vineyards he inherited from his father.

An exceptionally complete wine with a great ageing potential, shows the true essence of what Santorini and Assyrtiko are about: aromas of basalt and pumice stone with ripe tropical fruits, honeysuckle and maritime salinity, and a palate of salty green fruits with high levels of minerality and acidity.

The long aftertaste adds depth and weight to the wine making it a perfect pairing for seafood and fish.
