Delivery timeline:
It requires four full cases of each wine in order for us to build and fulfill four mixed cases. This process usually takes about 7-10 business days but may vary.

Each case includes three bottles of the following wines:

3 bottles x 2020 La Vinyeta Negre (Catalonia, Spain)

Red | Carignan, Grenache

Nestled in the heart of Empordà, La Vinyeta is a small production winery and olive grower driven by a young spirit of hard work and big dreams. The project’s origins can be found in two old Carignan and Grenache vineyards which Josep and Marta bought from an old winemaker from the town. They started producing their first bottles of wine in 2006. Today, La Vinyeta is one of the most highly regarded projects in the area, not just for the quality and diversity of the wines but also for their dynamism, humility, and commitment.

This is a red blend made from old vines of Carignan (65%), and Grenache (35%). The vineyards are organically farmed, without artificial irrigation.

In the glass, it has a cherry colour with violet tones. On the nose, it has a high aromatic intensity, combining aromas of ripe red fruit and lactic notes. On the palate, it is meaty, with nicely integrated tannins, medium-bodied, and with a great acidity.

Pairing suggestion: Pair this wine with chorizo and chickpea braised chicken thighs.

3 bottles x Cantine Barbera Lu Còri Nero D'Avola Menfi DOC 2021 (Sicily, Italy)
Red | Nero d'Avola

Cantine Barbera is located in Menfi, on the west coast of Sicily. The vineyards, that are farmed following organic and biodynamic practices, are about one mile from the Mediterranean Sea: an uncontaminated deep blue sea. The low cliffs and sandy dunes create a beautiful environment for the grapes to thrive, and are also protected by the Belice River Natural Reservation Fund.

A fascinating Nero d’Avola with a spicy and lively saline character, this wine truly represents the intriguing Sicilian terroir where it is produced. The wine has a bright ruby red color with intense shades of violet; its bouquet shows scents of mulberries and raspberries with a touch of light spices. On the palate it is fragrant and full, with soft velvety tannins that shape a vibrant, Mediterranean personality.

Pairing suggestion: Match this fresh red with rich meats, any kind of pasta with tomato based-sauces and pizzas!

3 bottles x Domaine Autrand Côtes du Rhone Vieilles Vignes 2019 (Côtes du Rhône, France)
Red | Grenache, Syrah

Christine Autrand-Aubert took over this 80 hectare estate from her parents in 2002. Originally it was a mixed farm also growing olives and lavender but from the 1990s it specialized in viticulture with Syrah becoming the main grape. She is now joined by her son Aurélien, who helps manage the estate, winemaking and export.

A classic blend of Grenache and Syrah that shows an uncanny freshness through salinity and minerality. It's loaded with strawberry, cherry and red plum jam, black pepper and liquorice. On the palate, it has firm tannins and an excellent length.

Elegant and balanced, this cuvée is ready to drink, and it has an ageing potential of 4 to 6 years.

3 bottles x The Flower and The Bee Sousón D.O. Ribeiro 2020 (Galicia, Spain)
Red | Sousón

90 points - Robert Parker

When the flower and the bee meet, everything begins.

This wine is the starting point to understand and appreciate the complexity of the Galician terroir and its native grape varieties. Deliciously easy-drinking, Coto de Gomariz has wanted The Flower and the Bee to be enjoyed unapologetically!

Shimmering violet. Smoke- and spice-accented cherry pit, blackberry and floral scents are complemented by hints of liquorice and succulent herbs. Nicely concentrated yet lively as well, offering bitter cherry and dark berry flavours that slowly unfurl through the back half. Closes long and subtly chewy, with firming tannins and repeating spice and floral notes.

Pairing suggestion: Enjoy on its own, or pair it with Spanish tapas.

About the Winery

Cantine Barbera

Cantina Barbera is located in the Menfi Coast, on the west coast of Sicily. The vineyards are about one mile from the Mediterranean Sea: an uncontaminated deep blue sea, facing South, where low cliffs and sandy dunes create a beautiful environment protected by the Belice River Natural Reservation Fund.

A third generation farmer, Marilena Barbera farms the Inzolia that her grandfather planted in the 20's, just as she attends to the native varietals that are the new frontier of her own generation: Perricone, Nerello, Alicante, Nero d'Avola and Grillo. Marilena makes her wines praticticing organic farming and natural winemaking, while paying utmost respect to Menfi's terroir.

"At the winery, I chose to work only with spontaneous fermentations and to adopt non invasive winemaking practices, in order to respect the unique personality of Sicilian native grape varieties and the beautiful land to which they belong."

Celler La Vinyeta

La Vinyeta is a relatively new company, established in 2002 in the centre of the Alt Empordà region, in Mollet de Peralada, a township devoted to the cultivation of vineyards and olive trees. The project started with the acquisition of a couple of old stocks, between 55 and 80 years old, of the Samsó and Garnacha varieties. Since then more vines have been planted, and La Vinyeta cultivates a total of thirty hectares.

In 2009, La Vinyeta became one of the first wineries to adopt Integrated Production, an environmentally friendly cultivation system. The team at La Vinyeta possesses an innovative spirit and likes to share with others their knowledge of wine and the wild landscape that surrounds them.

Coto de Gomariz

Ricardo Carreiro founded Coto de Gomariz in the seventies, when he managed to return to his land after emigrating to South America like so many other Galicians. His dream was to make wines and restore Gomariz's prestige as a historical vineyard. Known as the "Golden Mile" of the Ribeiro since the 10th century, Gomariz is the oldest Viticultural Reserve in the Iberian Peninsula and has exceptional characteristics for growing grapes.

Domaine Autrand

Christine Aubert and her son Aurélien, wine-makers in Vinsobres, at the heart of the Drôme Provençale, welcome you to their family estate. As a 80Ha estate, the Autrand Wine Cellar produces AOC Vinsobres (Côtes du Rhône vintage since 2006), Côtes du Rhône Villages AOC and Côtes du Rhône AOC in each color. Vinsobres, another little known Southern Rhône commune was awarded 'Cru' status in 2006. It’s relative anonymity outside France ensures exceptional value.
