Rich & Smooth

A small family winery (Mike, Gale, Amanda, Angela and Matt) that produces Rhône-style red and white wines from two vineyard properties in the Walla Walla Valley. They produce wines only from varietals that they love and farm themselves. From their first vintage in 2007, the wines have been remarkable with a consistent complexity, depth of flavour, finish and distinctive terroir. Almost everything they do is by hand, planting each vine in the vineyards, trellising, pruning, dropping fruit and then picking and sorting the berries at harvest.

The 6% inclusion of Viognier gives an amazing tropical lift to this wine. Most fruit driven this year, the In the Rocks has a boysenberry Danish, ripe apricot, vanilla custard, sweet beignets, white flower feel to the bouquet. Expect secondary flavors and aromas like peach skin, soy sauce, Peking duck with smoky plum sauce. The finish is long and elegant and has seamless integrated fine tannins.

Pair this wine with succulent BBQ ribs, braised meats, venison or rich stews.

This product is part of the LCBO Classics Catalogue. It will take approximately 3-4 weeks to be delivered from its release date.

More classic Rocks notes of mulled black fruits, pot roast, cured meats, and crushed violets emerge from the 2017 In The Rocks, which is about as seamless, silky, and layered on the palate as they come. Perfectly balanced, with great tannins, it's another killer Syrah from this team. A blend of 94% Syrah and 6% Viognier, aged in 35% new barrels, drink bottles any time over the coming 10-15 years. Maturity: 2020-2035.
