This mixed case includes three of our favourite white Natural wines, made by legendary winemakers.

Each case includes two bottles of the following wines:

2 bottles x Matthieu Barret Ours Brut Pétillant Rosé Extra Brut 2019 (Rhone, France)
Sparkling | Grenache, Gamay

Ours Brut is Matthieu Barret's beautiful sparkling wine made from organic and biodynamic Grenache and Gamay. Made with the méthode traditionnel, the Grenache was grown in the village of Roussas, in the Drôme; while the Gamay came from Eclassan, in the highlands of Ardéche.

Pairing suggestion: With a beautiful and intense salmon red colour with orange hues in the glass, this ancestral has a fine and mesmerizing perlage. Tart, nutty and intensely spicy. On the nose bitter oranges, grapefruit and blood oranges are loudly represented. Pomegranate and sour cherry are hardly inferior. Aromas of walnuts, hazelnuts and pecans give it a distinct note; and hints of orange blossom and orange zest give this ancestral softness and freshness. Ripe apples, caramelised quince and bread dough round it off.

2 bottles x The Flower and The Bee Treixadura D.O. Ribeiro 2021 (Galicia, Spain)
White | Treixadura

This wine is the starting point to understand and appreciate the complexity of the Galician terroir and its native grape varieties. Deliciously easy-drinking, Coto de Gomariz has wanted The Flower and the Bee to be enjoyed unapologetically!

Pairing suggestion: Powerful flavours of herbs, pears and white peach, with some apricot and spice notes. Real presence, but not at all heavy. Just lovely fruit intensity, and amazing freshness.

2 bottles x Elios Glou Glou Nerello Mascalese 2021 (Sicily, Italy)
Red | Nerello Mascalese

'Glou Glou' is a light red made from Nerello Mascalese grapes macerated only for 1 day on the skins and fermented exclusively in stainless steel tanks. This results in an uncomplicated, thirst-quenching red perfect to 'snack-on'. It's fresh, savoury and mineral, with aromas of fresh red fruits such as cherries and strawberries on the nose, and a nice combination of spices.

Pairing suggestion: Enjoy Elios' Glou Glou by the glass or with a charcuterie board.

Delivery timeline:
It requires three full cases of each wine in order for us to build and fulfill six mixed cases. This process usually takes about 7-10 business days but may vary.

About the Winery

Coto de Gomariz

Ricardo Carreiro founded Coto de Gomariz in the seventies, when he managed to return to his land after emigrating to South America like so many other Galicians. His dream was to make wines and restore Gomariz's prestige as a historical vineyard. Known as the "Golden Mile" of the Ribeiro since the 10th century, Gomariz is the oldest Viticultural Reserve in the Iberian Peninsula and has exceptional characteristics for growing grapes.

Domaine du Coulet - Matthieu Barret

Matthieu Barret was born in Aix-en-Provence in 1975 and studied viticulture in Beaune.

He is the 7th generation vigneron and joined his grandfather in Cornas in 1997. Previously, his family had only been farming and selling grapes. He practices biodynamic viticulture, obtaining very low yields (23 hl/ha) and extraordinary quality. He describes his wines as being 100% grape, with a very low sulphite addition. His wines are extremely clean, and, true to the Cornas character. Domaine du Coulet was founded by Matthieu Barret’s grandfather after WWII, and over the years has supplied grapes to some of the best known producers in the Northern Rhône, including Chapoutier and Delas. While his father eschewed the agrarian lifestyle, opting instead for a career in international business, Matthieu knew early on that he wanted to be a vigneron. In 1998 at the age of only 23, he took over the family’s 25 acres of well-situated vines on the terraced hillsides of Cornas.

From the beginning, Matthieu has employed natural, organic practices and by 2002 (his second year of production) the domaine received its biodynamic certification. With each vintage, Matthieu has gained a better understanding of his vine parcels and through thoughtful experimentation, he now turns out a remarkable selection of Cornas wines that express the unique nuances of each micro-terroir. No new oak, no racking, minimal use of sulfur and no fining or filtration. Pure, sexy Syrah.

“Elios” was born from the passion of these two young Sicilian friends. With a true love for their land, they joined together to develop their families’ farms and to bring them to their full potential after finishing their university studies. The farm and vineyards are located near Palermo in north west Sicily.  Along with olive groves and an apiary, they grow the native Sicilian grapes Grillo, Catarratto, Zibibbo and Nero d'Avola on their organic vineyards.

Elios prides itself on making minimum intervention, low sulfite wines with native Sicilian, organic grapes grown between Alcamo, Camporeale and Monreale; areas all located in the north-west part of Sicily. The wine making focuses on respect for the varietal, and aims to deliver an easy drinking, approachable style.
