Elegant & Lively

Nicolas Potel is an iconic producer in Burgundy. He grew up in a family dedicated entirely to wine; and after gaining some experience internationally, he started his own project in the late 90's.

Clos des Chenes is one of Volnay's most notable premier cru vineyards, located on the midslope of the Côte d'Or escarpment. The wines of this cru are some of Volnay's best, exhibiting bright fruit characters along with fine tannins, good acidity, and plenty of elegance.

A forward, sweetly fruited nose of blackberries and cherry, on the palate lots of blackcurrant fruit and notes of dried red berries interwoven with cedar spicing. Very attractive wine with sumptuous fruit and fine tannins.

Pair this delicious and lively wine with roast beef, veal, game birds, or rabbit. Soft cheeses such as camembert and brie also pair beautifully.

This product is part of the LCBO Classics Catalogue. It will take approximately 3-4 weeks to be delivered from its release date.

Wine Align - Michael Godel

Three years forward and indeed the window has been opened, wide and with the cool air blowing in, and out. Clos Des Chénes is officially leaving the primary building and gleefully striding over the line. This first look at secondary fruit maintains the integrity of that citrus perfume and tropical sapidity, now steeped as in a tisane, tannins tested but still gilded and maintaining their fine-chained line. This stage should take the wine to mid-decade and the last four to five years will be really interesting.
