Leeu Passant is the Franschhoek Winery of Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines. The Leeu Passant wines are multi-regional bottlings inspired by the classic age-worthy wines of the Cape from the 1960’s, 70’s and 80’s. These were authentic wines unique to the culture, terroir, history and tastes of the Cape, and they strive to reflect these unique factors in their wines.

A case includes 3 bottles of each wine.

3 bottles x Leeu Passant Old Vines Lotter Cinsault Franschhoek 2018
Red | Cinsault
95 points - Tim Atkin, MW

From a magical parcel of dry land bush vine Cinsault planted in 1932 in the clay
rich soils of the eastern slopes of the Hawekwa mountains in Franschhoek This is
South Africa’s second oldest registered red wine vineyard and we have been
caring for it since 2014. The heavier soils express more density in the wine.

The heavier clay-rich soils express more density in the wine, and this is
accentuated further by the dry 2018 vintage. Together they bring a serious
presence and weight to the wine. The intensely aromatic nose is full of red berry
and fynbos character. The palate is big on flavour, showing succulent mixed
berries and some savoury, meaty notes. The grippy tannins give structure, texture
and length.

3 bottles x Leeu Passant Old Vines Basson Cinsault Wellington 2018
Red Cinsault
94 points - Tim Atkin, MW

From an historic parcel of dry farmed bush vine Cinsault planted in 1900 in deep sandy alluvial soils in Wellington. This is South Africa's oldest registered red wine vineyard and we have had the privilege to farm and care for it since 2014.

This aromatic wine has an alluring and complex nose suggesting roses, cranberries, cherries, spice and a hint of thyme. The pallet is fresh and silky textured, with notes of orange peel, rhubarb, maraschino cherries, pink peppercorns and cloves. Fine tannins give great structure to the wine.
