About the Winery
Domaine Muré

The Muré family have been winegrowers in the region of Rouffach since 1650. In 1935, Alfred Muré, René’s grandfather, bought Clos St Landelin, a 32 acre family-monopole vineyard. Nowadays it is Alfred’s grandson René, together with his children Véronique and Thomas, the 11th and 12th generations of the family, who are responsible for running this exceptional, wholly-owned vineyard and its neighbouring terroirs, using biodynamic methods. To express the “terroir” in the wines and to preserve the heritage is the Muré family’s credo. Their wines are known for power, elegance and age worthiness.

Lime, lemon and bergamot zest tantalize on the nose with their shimmering nuances of green and yellow freshness. The palate adds a textured backdrop that has something of citrus pith, providing a layer against which this vivid zestiness can play out. There is substance and depth and wonderful purity. The finish is dry and those flashes of aromatic citrus peel continue throughout. Wonderful. Drink now through 2035.

Because this is still quite closed and very subtle. Delicate citrus, exotic fruit and floral notes. It could be overlooked it, but this has stunning depth combined with great refinement. A super long finish that is diamond bright and very silky. Better from 2019 and will probably hold up well beyond 2040. Made from organically grown grapes and Demeter certified.
