Mineral & Creamy

The Baud estate dates back to 1742, today the 9th generation manages the winery. Siblings Clementine and Bastien, both under 30, are making some of the best-value wines in the area. Jura is that narrow valley in the remote hills between Burgundy and Switzerland, which millions of years ago was covered by an Ocean and today still bares many of the fossils from that time. If you kick a stone in a Jura vineyard, it will probably be a fossil!

Seven generations of savoir-faire are behind this Crémant du Jura as seductive as it is thirst-quenching. The 'Brut Sauvage' is Baud's top sparking wine, marked by ripe apple, marzipan, and toast, thanks to a blend of Chardonnay (70%) and Pinot Noir (30%) aged at least 24 months on lees. True to its reputation, it will charm your palate with its delicate and elegant bubbles, leaving behind chalky and slightly saline notes.

Perfect on its own, and very, very delightful with fried tempura or fried chicken.

About the Winery

Domaine Baud Père et Fils

The history of Domaine Baud dates back to 1742, and it wasn't until 1950 when René Baud, the 7th generation, rebuilt the vineyard which had suffered from the phylloxera crisis and two World Wars.

Starting with only 4 hectares, the vineyard progressively expanded to 20 hectares with the help of successive generations. Now, managed by siblings Clémentine and Bastien, the 9th generation, the estate continues to flourish and grow, with a strong commitment to sustainable viticulture and preserving the traditions and style that makes the wines of the Jura so unique and incredible.

The estate achieved the Terra Vitis certification in 2014 for its eco-friendly work and environmental preservation.

90 points - Nadia Fournier

Excellent Crémant composed of Chardonnay (70%) and Pinot Noir, and determined at the level of only 3.5 grams per liter. The smoothness and the fat of this wine are rather the result of a long aging on lees (24 months). An ample wine, fed apple flavors chard, marzipan, roasted hazelnut.
