Earthy & Complex

Nicolas Potel is an iconic producer in Burgundy. He grew up in a family dedicated entirely to wine; and after gaining some experience internationally, he started his own project in the late 90's.

The village of Savigny-les-Beaune is in a side valley, a bit to the west of Beaune. This wine comes from a naturally low-yielding vineyard parcel that is 64 years old (planted in 1947). Gentle vinification with indigenous yeast and 14 months of barrel aging (30% new oak) give the wine a very fruity aroma and a broader structure that is typical of the somewhat more rustic style of this appellation.

Pair this delicious and delicate wine with roast beef, veal, game birds, or rabbit. Soft cheeses such as camembert and brie also pair beautifully.

Medium deep purple red colour. Fairly attractive, slightly spicy, ripe, fresh, plum-cherry purée nose. Dry, medium bodied, harmonious, very slightly spicy, elegant, bright, ripe plum-red-cherry flavours with a lingering, crisp, gently complex finish. Harmonious, ripe and ready-to-drink, this 2017 has 13% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar.
