Selectiv'-harvested, open-fermented, matured in French oak (20% new). Good tannin structure and balance, plum and blackberry fruit.
Raspberry puree and black cherry flavors are the focus here, with accents of Earl Grey tea, amaretto and spice box. Shows terrific density to the tannins, which become appealingly chewy on the finish. Drink now through 2033.
90 Points - David Lawrason
From the southern somewhat more maritime Barossa comes a slimmer shiraz with lovely and complex aromas of cranberry-cherry fruit, rosemary/basil herbality, pepper and moderate oak spice and vanillin. It is a very sleek, juicy and fresh style of shiraz but with considerable heat and gritty tannin. There is some granitic minerality as well. The length is excellent.
90 Points - Michael Godel
From vineyards around Lyndoch and Rowland Flat, warm and concentrated Southern Barossa feel and more than ample oak engagement. Both French and American barrels rule this rich and luxurious shiraz, expending aromatics that reach every nerve. Bigger than $20 would suggest, for better or worse but you better believe that “money’s worth” is the obvious operative expression. Drink 2021-2025.
