This is a beautifully formed, balanced and elegant Chabis. The nose shows very well integrated aromas of apple, subtle parmesan, mineral and grapefruit. It is mid-weight, sleek with great acidity. So well formed if not as deep as some. Mineral on the finish. The length is excellent. Textbook.

A classic 1er Cru Chablis with intensity, concentration and an enticingly mineral and floral nose. Offering terrific structure, zest and energy yet not lean or tart. Mid-weight with an expansive flavour profile. Both chalky and viscous with a notable leesy/yeasty component. Excellent length. Tasted September 2020.

Beauregard is not regarded as the most famous of the Premier Cru in Chablis but this southerly west banker is a sleeper. In Christophe Patrice’s hands it’s rich and unctuous, cut by salinity as per the kimmeridgian soil beneath its feet. Christophe is current/next generation Chablis, of chardonnay made precise by clean clarity and spoken truths for each sense of place. There are no lactic or woody notes to his wine, only fruit and stone. What else is there that truly matters? Drink 2020-2025.
