The Carbone family, based in Melfi near Mount Vulture in the heart of Basilicata, values their unique terroir which is rich in volcanic soil. Situated on the slopes of the ancient volcano, their vineyards benefit from an ideal aspect. Coupled with an optimal microclimate that's marked by significant temperature variations, this setting imbues Aglianico with its unique character that's deeply rooted in the region. Luca and Sara have carried on the winemaking tradition since 1974, prioritizing continuity and terroir expression. Their philosophy centres on the fertile land of Mount Vulture, respecting organic vineyard rhythms and employing modern cellar techniques to maintain the wine's character. Teaming up with oenologist Sergio Paternoster, they create authentic wines that mirror the region's history and vibrant essence.

Aglianico is a wonderful grape variety – sometimes referred to as the 'Nebbiolo of the South'. This rendition exudes fragrant herbal notes, sweet & savoury spices and hints of dried black fruits. Robust and full-bodied on the palate, the tannins maintain their classic firmness but are finely polished, complemented by well-judged acidity. In addition to the baked fruits, there's a subtle smoky black tapenade nuance that enhances the fruit character. The wine concludes with remarkable length, underscoring its complexity and hidden gem status.

While showing nicely now, this style may benefit from moderate aeration before drinking. The big tannic structure will be a solid match with mature, firm cheeses and roasts or braised meats. For those who prefer a softer style, leave this bottle to rest in the cellar and return to it in the next 5 years.

Hardy's constructed the Stonehaven Winery in 1998 with the purpose of showcasing the distinct qualities of the Limestone Coast region in Southern Australia. Following Hardy's acquisition by Constellation and subsequent brand expansion, the winery fell into dormancy after being sold. In early 2021, C.W. Wines acquired both the Stonehaven winery and brand, subsequently reintroducing the Stonehaven label to the market. Now sporting a revitalized appearance and market strategy, Stonehaven aims to appeal to contemporary wine enthusiasts, offering a wine selection suitable for any occasion.

The Limestone Coast enjoys plentiful access to water and cool evening temperatures, which remain low even as daytime temperatures rise. This diurnal shift is optimal for the gradual maturation of grapes, enhancing flavour development while maintaining acidity—a crucial factor in grape cultivation within such a warm climate.

A bold and fruit-forward wine characterized by plentiful black fruit flavours and a full, rounded palate. Its lingering notes reveal dark berry fruits, violet petals and spices with subtle oak, adding toasted nuances and a hint of brambly sweetness. With a captivating backdrop of exotic spices and subtle tannins, it enchants the palate through to its elegant finish.

Whether it's grilled sausages, burgers, or smoked brisket, Australian Shiraz complements the bold flavours and hearty textures of barbecue fare.

The Tomich family hails from the Adriatic Coast in Croatia where winemaking is a way of life. Jack Tomich Senior arrived in Australia in 1903, bringing with him all of the grape growing and winemaking skills of his forefathers. The family had always made their own wine for the family and grew sultanas and wine grapes after moving to the new irrigation settlement of Mildura in 1936. Jack’s son Ivan showed a real passion for wine, and by 1946 was producing and selling to local farmers. Three generations of grape growers and winemakers later, the Tomich family now owns one of the best sites in the Adelaide Hills and has kept its ancestral way of softly farming the land while advocating for regenerative growing practices.

Tomich Wines is dedicated to sustainable wine growing with a multitude of environmental practices that have been implemented in and around the family vineyard at Woodside. The bee featured on their logo symbolizes the family’s philosophy of hard work, attention to detail and environmentally sensitive farming for future generations.

This Single Vineyard wine is handcrafted from Estate-grown fruit from a high altitude, cool climate vineyard. Offering intense berry and red cherry aromas on the nose, followed by a vibrant palate that shows dark wild berries and cherry cola notes with subtle hints of dried herbs. Nice and light-weight with graceful tannins to carry the flavourful fruit notes long into the pleasing finish.

This is the perfect pairing for sweet-and-sour pork chops and braised duck legs.

Tantalus was established in 2004 when Proprietor Eric Savics was presented with the opportunity to acquire one of the Okanagan Valley’s premier vineyard properties. Originally known as Pioneer Vineyards, the site was first planted to table grapes in 1927 by renowned, local horticulturist JW Hughes. Tantalus Vineyards was founded on the belief that exceptional wines made from a single vineyard of outstanding pedigree would capture the imagination and palates of those seeking authenticity and a sense of place. The winery is situated on the eastern slopes of the Okanagan Valley, overlooking the shores of Lake Okanagan and the City of Kelowna. Today the winery is known as the oldest continuously producing vineyard in British Columbia.

With a nod to Eric’s eldest son Eric Jr., affectionately known to many over the years as “Bear”, this wine was crafted from the youngest blocks and made in a crisp and lively style.

Exhibiting classic aromas of sea breeze, oyster shell and lemon custard, alongside pear and apple crumble, while green floral notes bring intrigue to the nose. The palate is brimming with fresh acidity: big notes of honeydew melon, ambrosia apple and sweet basil are juxtaposed by a playful yuzu-like freshness and hint of orange creamsicle. A lively and fresh texture enhances the lovely, rounded weight.

Sip alongside a tasty smoked salmon sandwich with goat cheese.

Soléna is a combination of Spanish and French words Solana and Soleil, celebrating the sun, the moon and cycles of life. Launched in May of 2000 when the owners
purchased the 80-acre estate, which became the Domaine Danielle Laurent vineyard.
Furthering their successful careers in the Oregon wine industry, Laurent Montalieu and
Danielle Andrus Montalieu gifted this vineyard to each other for their wedding, and began making wine under the label named Soléna, after their daughter. Soléna Estate showcases the beauty of terroir from site-specific areas from estate vineyards in Yamhill-Carlton and McMinnville AVAs, as well as iconic single-vineyards around the Northwest.

From the estate affectionately dubbed the ‘wedding vineyard,’ which started it all, this is a powerful wine that matches with a range of foods and enlivens any evening. It has a hearty nose of bing cherry peel and baking spice, followed by taste of black plum, raspberry, cracked peppercorn, and crushed slate. Verging into full-bodied on the palate without feeling weighed down, the sturdy tannins are softened by the ripe berry fruit notes.

This Pinot would match well alongside miso-glazed grilled chicken or pork chops drizzled with a cherry sauce.

In 1984 Neil Ellis sourced grapes from vineyards not of his own and produced wine in rented cellar space. These grapes were sourced in the Stellenbosch district and meant a lot of nosing around the restrictive quota system prevalent at the time.

Today, the experience and knowledge of the past are applied to modern techniques and technologies for a new generation of winemaking. “Our vision remains to make distinctive, refined wines that are expressive of their terrain and rank amongst South Africa’s finest. A pursuit of quality, nothing less.” Neil Ellis

The Whitehall Chardonnay celebrates the legacy of site-selected vineyards. The grapes for this premium Chardonnay grew just down the road from the Whitehall farm where Neil produced the first certified Sauvignon Blanc. The philosophy is to craft Chardonnay of great purity, reflecting site and the season in which it was grown.

Expect to find a pretty bouquet of zesty lime and crunchy white nectarines married with flinty minerality and hints of hazelnut. Finely structured on the palate, with bright acidity balancing the delicate fruit aromas bringing this wine into graceful harmony. This is a polished wine made from well-practiced hands, combining distinctive character, refined concentration and elegance.

Highly sippable on its own, but will match superbly with salmon, smoked duck, or shellfish.
