Founded in 2005, Domaine de Bellene focuses on crafting wines from old vines with a commitment to sustainable, organic farming. Winemaker and proprietor Nicolas Potel's approach emphasizes producing wines that authentically reflect their origins and vintages, while preserving the land and culture for future generations. Under his leadership, Domaine de Bellene has earned respect among Burgundy enthusiasts, offering wines from both renowned and lesser-known appellations.

Premier Cru Les Perrières, situated between Les Cent Vignes, Les Bressandes, and Les Marconnets, was originally planted with Pinot Noir but is better suited to Chardonnay. Nicolas purchased and re-planted the vineyard in 2013, with the first vintage produced in 2017. The wine reveals pure aromas of stone fruits and fresh flowers, with a silky, savoury palate marked by a delightful saltiness and iodine minerality on the finish. Its racy, well-detailed, and stony mid-palate flavours lead to a clean, dry, and balanced finale, though a few years of aging could bring out even greater depth.

95 Points - David Lawrason

From one more well known 1er cru sites in Beaune, this is a lovely, ripe, creamy and almost voluptuous chardonnay showing the warmth of the vintage. Expect complex and intriguing aromas of hazelnut, Boston cream pie, tarragon and toast and barrel spice. It is medium-full bodied, creamy, smooth, warm and powerful. Rich and seamless and refined, with a strong mineral seam running through the finish. The length is outstanding
