Château Barreyre belongs to the Bordeaux Supérieur appellation, an organization that promises to offer a superior version of Bordeaux AOC.
This back vintage is a Merlot-based blend with Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Cot planted in rich in limestone soils. Aged in French oak barrels for a year, this Bordeaux has aromas of black currant and tart blackberry notes mingle with hints of spice box and soy. Approachable-style, with a ripe and velvety texture and soft tannins in the vibrant finish.
Pair this wine with savoury meats, like a steak or in a stew.
