- White Wine
- Pinot Gris
- 14.00% alc./vol
This is opulent, complex and engaging on the nose displaying grilled apricot, poached pear and fragrant spice characters with a hint of beeswax complexity. It is powerful and fleshy on the palate, displaying excellent fruit concentration and rich texture, wonderfully complemented by elegant sweetness and perfectly pitched acidity. Mouthfilling and stylish.

The 2017 is number one, inaugural vintage for pinot gris in the Michelle line of Invivo wines. Central Otago is pinot country and not just for noir but also gris, well-suited to rugged landscapes that want to partner with vines working dutifully for their grape reward. This full on, oily and fleshy succulent pinot gris is almost old-school, off-dry Alsatian in style. It’s a wine of true glück in temperament and texture, at times sharp and full of vim. Yet it’s not vivid, is grounded in reality and of a smoky smoulder that gives it a bit of movie star status.
