Structured & Firm

Bill and Dawnine Dyer bring the rich history and intense flavors of Diamond Mountain Cabernet to life. The Napa Valley winery in the Diamond Mountain District combines their expertise and experience in one wine - Dyer Vineyard, Diamond Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon – a celebration of California’s storied wine-making history. Bill and Dawnine’s unique perspective and knowledge of wine derives from decades of winemaking, both in the prestigious Napa Valley and around the world. Together they represent more than 80 years of experience in the wine industry. In 1996, they planted Dyer Vineyard and started Dyer Straits Wine Co with the goal of bringing focus on the exceptional terroir and extraordinary wines of Napa Valley’s “jewel” on Diamond Mountain.

A blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot. Ripe plum and blueberry; lavender, graphite and hints of incense cedar; typical savory notes mingle with a cassis element that carries through to the palate. A powerful yet graceful wine, well structured, lush, balanced and supple.

Fire up the grill! Pair this decadent wine with a classic, juicy ribeye with roasted potatoes covered in butter and rosemary. Vegetarian? Swap the ribeye for a Portobello mushroom!

Vinous

95 Points

Translucent and super-expressive, Dyer's 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon is magnificent. Sweet plum, graphite, lavender and spice develop in the glass, but it is the wine's exceptional balance and captivating beauty that stand out most. The richness of the vintage has filled out the wine's classically built frame nicely. Even so, what comes through is a powerful, structured Diamond Mountain Cabernet that exudes class and polish from the first taste to the last. Don't miss it.
